USS Midway Museum
9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Prepare yourself for a lifetime memory aboard San Diego’s top attraction. Your day will begin at 9:00 am with transportation from the Hilton San Diego Bayfront to the USS Midway Museum, the #1 Museum in San Diego and named America’s best museum ship in USA Today’s 2016 Readers Choice Awards! You’ll explore a floating city at sea and relive nearly 50 years of world history aboard the longest-serving Navy aircraft carrier of the 20th century. Visitors walk in the footsteps of 225,000 Midway sailors who served our country and upheld the American ideals of strength, freedom and peace.
For lunch you will travel to the Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens, Liberty Station in Point Loma’s now-historic Naval Training Center. This restaurant celebrates the venue’s prior history as a U.S. Navy mess hall, while introducing new industrial and organic features of metal, concrete, reclaimed wood, plant life, water and glass. The Stone Brewing philosophy supports an artisanal, natural approach to food, and they are the largest restaurant purchaser of small-farm organic produce in San Diego County. The bar features 40 taps of exceptional craft beers, including Stone year-round and special releases and beers from other small breweries.
After lunch the group will return to The Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel, arriving at approximately 3:00pm.
